The short version

VTryItOn is a static website with no server of its own. Your photos are processed in your browser and sent directly from your device to a Hugging Face Space for generation. We — the people who run this website — never receive, see, or store your photos at any point.

What happens to your photos

When you upload a photo of yourself and a garment, they are resized in your browser and sent over HTTPS straight to a Hugging Face Space (a piece of infrastructure run by Hugging Face, not by us), which generates the try-on image and returns it to your browser. Hugging Face acts as the data processor for this step; their handling of the data in transit and during processing is governed by their own policy — see the Hugging Face Privacy Policy.

We do not run analytics, tracking pixels, or any backend that logs your uploads. There is nothing on our end to request a copy of or ask us to delete, because we never had a copy.

What's stored on your device

  • Result history — your last 10 results (with a small thumbnail) are kept in your browser's IndexedDB so you can revisit or download them. This never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
  • Sign-in session — if you choose to sign in with Hugging Face, your access token is kept only in sessionStorage (cleared when you close the tab, or when you sign out) and is sent only to the Hugging Face Space you're generating with.
  • Small preferences — a flag for dismissing the first-visit notice, and a preference for which engine worked last, are kept in localStorage.

Photos of other people

Only upload a photo of yourself, or of someone who has agreed to have their photo used this way. You are responsible for having that agreement in place.
